Information WanWan! Uses

WanWan! is designed to work entirely on your device. The app stores practice-related information locally, including:

Progress records for lessons, vocabulary, and kana you have practiced; quiz session history; saved drawing attempts; recognition confidence values; timestamps; and your sound and speech preferences.

Microphone & Speech Recognition

WanWan! uses the device microphone and Apple's on-device speech recognition for voice-based practice drills. Audio is processed locally using Apple's Speech framework and is not sent to external servers by the app.

Handwriting Recognition

When you draw kana characters in the app, the drawing is processed on-device using Apple frameworks and bundled CoreML models. Your handwriting data is not sent to any remote server.

Personal Information

WanWan! does not require account creation and does not collect your name, email address, phone number, or other personal contact details.

Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking

WanWan! does not include third-party advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, or any app-based tracking for advertising purposes.

Data Sharing

WanWan! does not share your locally stored practice data with third parties.

Data Storage

All practice history, quiz results, drawing attempts, and progress data are stored locally on your device using SwiftData. If you remove the app, all locally stored data will also be removed.

Children's Privacy

WanWan! does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app is suitable for all ages.

Your Choices

You can stop using the app at any time. You may revoke microphone and speech recognition permissions in your device's Settings at any time. Removing the app will delete all locally stored data.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated if the app's features or data practices change. Any updated version will be posted with a revised effective date.
