Short version: Chess with Pip does not collect, track, or share any personal information. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising. Everything you do in the app stays on your device.
None that identifies you. We do not ask for your name, email, or any account. Chess with Pip stores your learning progress — things like completed lessons, puzzle ratings, statistics, achievements, and settings — only on your device. That information never leaves your device and is never sent to us or anyone else.
If you use the scan feature to photograph a chessboard, the image is processed on your device to recognize the position. Photos are not uploaded, stored by us, or shared. The app only uses the camera while you are actively scanning, with your permission.
If you choose to enter moves by voice, your speech is handled by Apple's built‑in speech recognition to convert it to text. The audio is used only to recognize your move — we never receive your audio or transcripts. Apple's handling of speech is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Chess with Pip offers an optional in‑app purchase — a tip to support the app; nothing is ever locked. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment details. Restoring a purchase uses your Apple ID via Apple's systems. Apple's processing is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Chess with Pip includes no third‑party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The only third party involved is Apple, and only to process App Store purchases as described above.
Chess with Pip is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children. Because nothing is collected, nothing is collected from children either.
Because your data lives only on your device, you are in full control of it. Deleting the app removes all of its data from your device. There is nothing stored on our side to delete, because we never received it.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
